Executive Chef Michael Bomberg
Michael Bomberg, co-owner of Spice of Life, is a nationally known award-winning chef. An active member of the Texas Chef Association, Chef Bomberg was recognized by the San Antonio Restaurant Association as the city’s Top Chef in 2003.
Chef Bomberg is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the renowned Culinary Institute of America. Before establishing Spice of Life in 2004, he worked with many of San Antonio’s top dining establishments, including The Dominion Country Club, La Mansion, Polo’s at the Fairmount and the Anaqua Grill. Chef Bomberg has also traveled extensively, inspiring many of the dishes he creates.
Complementing Chef Bomberg’s role at Spice of Life are his projects for the Texas Beef Council, Kitchen Pride Mushrooms, Tampa Maid Seafood and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. He also is a volunteer with Wildlife Rescue, The San Antonio Food Bank and the March of Dimes.
Chef Bomberg and his wife Rocío, co-owner of Spice of Life and a native of México City, have a 7-year-old daughter, Hannah.
